Organization Profile:	The Pharmaceutical Service of the Department of Health is responsible for the registration and licensing of pharmaceutical products and manufacturers, importers/exporters, wholesalers and retailers. It is also responsible for the procurement of pharmaceutical products for the use in medical institutions of the Department and of the Hospital Authority, and the provision of dispensing service in all general out-patient clinics of the Department.
Services	The inspection and licensing of manufacturers of pharmaceutical products produced by biotechnology; the registration of such products for the purpose of approval for sale and distribution within Hong Kong; the import/export licensing control of such products; and the quality assurance of such products by means of random sampling for analysis.
